Mike Thackray

How would you describe yourself:
Curious, imaginative, open.

Important things to me:
My allotment, playing music with friends, writing, bicycle touring, baking bread, studying, being there for my friends and family, feeling part of a team with my work, being part of a strong, supportive community of live-aboard boaters in London.

Skills, Qualities and Knowledge:
Trained gardener, experienced support worker (particularly with autistic adults), facilitator/trainer (various autism trainings, PBS coach, Community Connecting, carer support groups). I’ve played drums in various bands since I was a teenager and can also play piano, guitar and the cornet (just about). 

 

Paul Lucas

Important things to me:
I love travel, music (especially rock), living by the sea in Dorset, football (West Ham fan).

I passionately believe that services for people with disabilities should be in the mainstream, where their ambitions are more likely to be achieved

Skills, Qualities and Knowledge:
I started my Social Care Career at Barnardo’s Bridge Project, in East London and progressed to being a Social Worker. While I enjoyed the role, I found councils were often not ambitious enough with their clients.

In 2012 I founded Out & About. This gave me an opportunity to be ambitious around clients’ goals and how they could be achieved.

How would you describe yourself:
Adaptable, methodical, creative.

Important things to me:
Friends & family, music, visiting new and unusual places, walking and running to keep fit.

Skills, Qualities and Knowledge:
Digital marketing, IT support and training, web design.

Naren Thanki

What people admire about me:
Good communicator, patient, organised, instinctively perceptive, open, honest.

Important things to me:
Travel, family, socialising, movies, listening to music (mainly modern and soft jazz), playing golf and watching cricket, spending time with my grandchildren, a daily brisk walk, photography, listening to LBC radio.

I have over 40 years of experience in provision of Financial Advisory support mainly aimed at small and owner managed business organisations.
